I feel kind of bad for something I did, here it is. On one of those facebook gun buying groups I posted on a guys gun sale that was asking $650 for a xd-40. I posted a link to a budsgunshop link for that gun for $534 brand new with free shipping etc. he gets all heated which i expected, and i actually felt bad. I continued looking and all i see on the site is way over priced USED guns. Like used guns priced much over retail, and it makes me mad because i am in the market for a gun and would like to save by buying used.

So i make a post saying : "Just a heads up, check buds gun shop . Com and impact guns . Com to see what a gun is worth. So many of you are paying way too much for a gun, and I can't say I blame the seller. Yall are retarded though. And when you buy online you don't pay sales tax, just ffl which is like $20." I was honestly trying to help buyers out like you guys helped me out by showing me those sites.

Heres the response I get from im guessing the group maker or something : "No offense sir, but we really don't need another member of the Price Police Department. If you have something to sell/trade, please post it! if you see something that you want, respond to the post. & If you can't offer the exact same thing at a lower price delivering it TODAY, why don't you consider keeping your pie-hole shut? Have a nice day!"

lol so now im extremely pissed, but dont want to be. I almost feel like i should have stayed out of it, but its people like this who will continue to help these gun prices stay high. Am i wrong? i feel like if people start standing up to these high prices people will be more reasonable. Like $100 over retail for a used gun? wtf??

I don't think your wrong. It pisses me off too. It's called gouging. The fair market on that gun right now, used is likely the retail price due to a limited availability on the market but $100 plus over retail is gouging.

The internet has really F%^&ed up gun buying and collecting. Everyone thinks there stuff is worth top dollar due to the market or what they have seen others "List" them for sale. That gun won't sell for $650. Likewise, in collecting condition is everything and most people couldn't tell you the diference between a gun in 75% condition and 95% condition.

I don't bother commenting, don't get upset, just keep on looking, elsewhere, anywhere and every where and a deal will fall into your lap, eventually. Get the word out to literally everyone you know or come into contact with that you collect firearms and that you buy collections or singles and if they know of anyone who has any that they would like to part with to call you. You must move fast on those deals and have cash available to close the deal. If not it's likely someone else will get them frst. I have gotten the best and most deals that way and you never know what you are going to come into contact with gun wise either.

thanks man, good advice. But yeah idk i just felt that calling these people out might help the buyers on these sites realize how dumb it is to pay way over retail for a used gun. I feel that these buyers dont have a clue what the gun is worth, then pay this amount and then the cycle continues. Thats why i posted the two sites you guys referred me to, but then i get shit for it lol.

thanks guys. i literally felt bad for posting both of those things. Like one of those posts you immediately regret although you wanted to say it, and personally know it was the right thing to do. Hopefully people will start to be more reasonable, and smart with gun buying and we will see these prices go down.
