We had our annual event yesterday in Ocala. This thing is always a big hit. This is put together 100% on donor money and by volunteers. Attendance was down a tad from last year, but still a massive crowd. We once again had tons of raffle prizes. We had enough to make sure that every single kid went home with something. We raffled off a pair of hog hunts that a guy generously donated. Plus a lot of really nice autographed turkey calls donated by Woodhaven and Scott Ellis. The whole idea of this event is to get kids out of the concrete jungle for a day and introduce them to what Florida has to offer in the outdoors

That was a good event and your words "get them out of the concrete jungle", sure has some deep meaning in view of the life style of way too many families at this time.
Maybe next years event could feature some of the youth that have benefited from past participation in the event.

Wished Ihad known about it, cause I would have told my FHP buddy so he could have taken his boys. That is his goal to carry the boys with him hunting sometime. They love to gofishing with him and camp in the back yard. You'll have to let me know next time.

Sorry I didn't post it on here. I just forgot honestly. But I did post in on my FB page at least 3 times over the last month. I'll try to do my part better next year on getting the word out. It should be the same weekend next year---Saturday after Memorial Day :rock_on
