I live in a ghetto azz apartment complex across the street from the Yuengling plant on 30th St in Tampa. Had a neighbor have her door kicked in around noon a few months ago. I can get to a weapon within 3 steps of 90% of my place, if one isn't on my hip. Looking forward to getting out of here in a couple months
I've also been "door checked" before. Sitting on my couch studying in silence and someone tries to gently open the door to see if it's locked. I think they heard me scramble for the shotgun cause I knocked a glass over...no one was at the door when I got there. Nor could I see anyone fleeing, but the buildings are close together and someone could be out of view in 5-7 running steps.
Also found a Kleenex in front of my door, and all of the exterior windows to my apartment, no other Kleenex's to be found, only laid in front of entrances to my place...maybe I was being paranoid about that one....but I am of the minority in this complex and I live with two women.
My dumbass upstairs neighbor is an 18 year old black kid with a 20 year old white girlfriend and baby....he seems to think it's ok to sit on the back patio (which is above mine) and smoke and drop the ashes and butts down onto our patio, among other items. When he drops something he wants back, he has ripped the screen door and unlocked it in order to get onto my porch, TWICE. He and I are fixing to have a little discussion to clarify a few things. I've been trying to avoid conflict to avoid drama, but enough is enough.
Anyways, the point of the above ramble is, I know how you feel....it sucks.

I know exactly what complex you live in. It used to be called The Remington...Now its changed to something else. I did a lot of work in there a few years back. Don't blame you for wanting to get the hell outta there. I believe that is the same place where an employee was killed...If I remember right
There was a woman raped here a few years ago, hence the name change. I believe that's the story. I could be totally wrong though and it coulda been a murder. I do know that I've heard gunshots within a few hundred yards of my place.
I would stomp the piss outta this kid, but I don't have the time or money to deal with an assault and battery charge. People don't handle things the same here as they do back home. And hell, for all I know, I'd end up in a gunfight with his homeboys. A few years ago, I woulda knocked on his door, drug him out front, and showed him how us white boys can jump, as I was stomping on his head....but I'm not a big fan of the police knocking on my door.
