won my first online gun aution. another member who does this alot did it for me. found the bbl and put in the bid under his account for free all I had to do was pay the seller with a money order. turns out the seller is a gun shop I have bought multiple pistols/rifles/shotguns and a bow from late 80's to early 2,000's, never expected to do bussiness with them again. a 21" smoothbore "slug bbl" with fixed improved cylinder choke with open rifle sights. looking forward to less recoil than my 12 ga 3 1/2" shoulder breaker. but don't think I'll be selling it anytime soon. I may consider having the new bbl tapped and threaded for screw in choke tubes after some feedback from Allen. I have a sickness that won't let me leave anything alone. I'm putting Dow firearm smiths to a test with a ruger speed 6 2 3/4" 357. I thought up the project now will see if they can make it happen for under 75$, a taller than norm fiber optic front site. easy to find for newer guns but none avail for older guns. chose the older Ruger for it's strength to shoot some hot 180gr xtp loads in a small/easy to carry trail gun. will let you know how they do.
My barrel is at a smith up in Dade city. I have not even met the guy. A buddy of mine took it to him for me. Said it would be about a month (2 weeks ago). He is charging me $70 to have it cut and rethreaded
it might be the same smith, Dows is on rte 301 app 5-7 mi south of 50, kind of between Ridge Manor and Dade city.
