he will be getting a real nice gun,BUT most of that $ is for the name and bragging rights he has a gun made by the people who have the tv show.

Best bang for the buck is spikes tactical. They have alot of the same features as some of the higher priced AR brands. Only thing I dont like is their logo.

The guys at Classicarms.com have some nice ones on there made in North Carolina. They are decent guns and I believe they start at under $700. They even give you some kind of oddball accessories with them.
