Decided to start a new thread for some new members to participate and get opinions from ANY and ALL forum members. If you could only have one hunting firearm which could be used for every type of hunting, including but not limited to small game, big game, waterfowl, turkey, varmint, predator, etc. what would it be and why that particular weapon. Remember, you can only have one gun and that's it during your life. This might take some thought as normally outdoorsmen and women go through phases of hunting different species, different environments, different styles, different areas of the country, etc....
DOn't think you can have "one gun fits all" in Florida, as well as other states due to legalities (shotgun only areas, turkey rules, etc).
Only way you could do it would be with a gun with interchangeable barrels. I'd go with a T/C Encore with a 30-06 barrel, a 12ga 3" barre, and a 50 cal ML Barrel
Would have to agree with Iluv2hunt, a 3 bbl. TC set up would fill the ticket and the 30/06, 12ga. & .50ml bbls. would be just right. But if we were further restricted to only one firearm, I believe my old 12 ga. 311 dbl. bbl. Stevens would be good enough. The old thing looks and feels like a 2X4 with side by side 3/4" water pipes attached to it. Killed my 1st deer with it 47 years ago. Lots of different critters fell in front of that ol' shot gun in the early years.

I think I would have a 12 or 20 ga pump shotgun with a rifled slug barrel, 28" or 30" vent rib choked tubed barrel, and a .50 cal muzzle loader barrel.
A T/C Encore with multiple barrels would be a good choice also but I would also include a .22 LR or .22 WMR barrel.
A SXS or O/U shotgun is a good pick as well in my opinion.
