I have been wanting a 16ga or a 28ga for a wile been waiting for something special, Got what I think is a good deal. Paid 350.00 and a 20ga youth model mossberg for it. I took it semi apart and cleaned it it feel very tight and the metal is in i would say 80 to 85% wood about 75%, I think I will still take it to gun smith since it is a 1949 model brfore I shoot it. oh and the in side of barrel shine like a mirror.
Thats a great looking model there and its all about the deal you think you got. My 1st shotgun was a single shot Ithaca with blonde wood. Man, I miss that gun.
Yea, Something about your first gun, Unfortunately my first shotgun was stolen about 25 years ago, It was a marlin bolt action 410ga it was handed down from my great grangfather, I would give up all of my guns (well most of them) for that gun.
I bought a Belgian Browning A5 Lite 12 a little over a year ago, and love it. Mine is from the late 60's or early 70s. Has the rifle sights and was used as a deer gun up north, guy moved down here and traded it for a pistol at a gun shop. I've shot slugs and buckshot through it at the range, and that thing is sweet. I bet you'll love that 16 gauge, just hope you don't have trouble getting ammo for it.
Nice Browning.
