Posting this for Nacho!

Ruger M77 tang safety blued with wood and med wt bbl from gunboy. Reciever pillar bedded and bbl free floated. Inside bedded and outside covered with west system epoxy and a clear coat automotive top coat so it's basicly tough as nails and weather proof. Scope is a Chinese Leupold knockoff 4-12x50 for $92& and 5 days from Bejing to my door. these groups are my first firing of the gun testing the work done, the scope and 3 different sets of handloads each with different oal's (over all lengths) all were 5 shot groups at 100 yards with a 5- 10 mph L-R crosswind, only the center group held all 5 in the x-ring, all but one group were sub 1" moa (minute of accuracy). 200 yards were smaller than a playing card, all handloads shot better than storebought remington core-lokt's. Shooting was done by me with screaming back pain and braces on my back/elbow/wrist hand on my right (dominant side) so I think there is some real potential for improvement as the cases are now fire formed to the shape of this guns internal dimensions and will be neck sized only next time reloaded. I really wanted my bud and the guy who did the work who is also now shooting competitively at 600 meters benchrest to see what kind of groups he could get but he was sick and couldn't come out and play, plus the buzzards found the yote I shot yesterday am. SCOPE REVIEW: Clarity and resolution sucked as expected for a 92$ knockoff but the turret adjusters paralax correction knob and iluminated reticle features I liked and worked well. after a couple of shots some internal debris fell inside the glass, luckily it wasn't too large or in a bad spot, hopefully there will be no more. as for reliability and durability we will have to see. If I had my druthers it would be wearing a Schmidt and Bender 5x25 power 30mm tube 56mm objective lens tactical scope, and I'd be having 3-ways with Salma Hayek and that Verduga chicka from modern family and farting through silk. I'll probably end up putting a 3-400$ scope on it some time in the future.

thanks for posting Rob. someday I MAY figure out how to do it. I think this will be an ongoing project as I'm not quite happy with the trigger. the ones on the varmint models feel lighter and smoother. for extreme weather/cold the ruger and winchester triggers basicly can't freeze or jam up, the ones in little square boxes like timney and remington can attract oil, water, crud and jam or freeze up, but they can be adjusted to be lighter, smoother and crisper, so theres a trade off. this gun will primarily be fired from the bench or if hunting from a stand/shooting house and not carried as wt is 10 lbs even empty with scope. once I get the scope where I want it the ring and base screws will be cleaned with acetone and put back in with locktite. the bases did loosen up during shooting and needed periodic re-tightening. after hunting season and all the brass is fire formed it will go back to have the lugs lapped, head space measured, possibly trigger replaced and re-loads fine tuned then want to see what a better shooter than me can do with it. wish I could afford some good German Glass. cost to me so far for work done 100$, tonic, free medical supplies and advice and a lot of waiting anxiously.

What load combo are you running through the 25-6?

100 grain sierra spitzer boattail with 55 grains of H4831 short cut and winchester large rifle magnum primers, but those were full length re-sized and not fire formed or neck sized so I'm hoping for better. also got a good tip tonite, with American brass the flash holes are drilled out as opposed to being punched out and they leave a petal shaped burr on the inside/bottom of the brass and don't give even ignition. my bud bought or made a tool that gets rid of that burr, leaving the inside of the brass flat smooth and an even shaped hole and improves accuracy a great deal according to him. for hunting at realistic ranges I wouldn't worry too much about it. when I see this tool and find out how to get one I'll pass it along. it's something you will only have to do once. when I get everything tweaked I will go back to nosler partitions for hunting.
