first it's a mdl 686 I believe.other than scope, grips and new sights most other mods would be permanent.(and those are the ones that would help it shoot better, other than the scope). it's a fancy gun so I'd stay in that direction maybe with some fancy wood grips, better open sights (bo-mar or something) and a fancy engraved holster. it should shoot real well right out of the box. check with the S&W performance center for options, a "tune up", trigger/timing job will help. nice gun as is.

The 686 is stainless. Lynx specifically mentioned his a nickel-finish, so he was correct when he said it is a 586.

The performance center is pretty sweet but nothing to fancy...im still thinking a scope or something because this pistol could use one! Its so accurate haha 😛
guess I'm too old school and stuborn but scopes are for rifles imo. now an acog reflex (much smaller) might be another story.
