Born sometime between 1956-57 (based on the serial number).
Just arrived by fed-ex this morning and I got to put her in her new home (my gun safe)

Anyone know a GOOD gunsmith capable of going thru an M1 Garand head to toe and give me a GO/NOGO status report on the firearm?

Thanks.
G

nice purchase. sorry haven't a clue, maybe the Gunny on the history channel. try the net for a smith with an old military background. I'm sure there are garrand clubs/groups on line, google em and ask them. gotta let me try a clip if we ever meet, I'll pick up the nacho's and beer if I'm ever allowed to have em again.

Nice buy! Worth every penny you paid, just from a historical perspective.

There's a place in Largo off Ulmerton, Mark Kubes Firearms, that deals in a lot of mil surplus.

I had a guy recommend I take my Mosin-Nagant rifle to them when I was thinking of having a scope mounted about 2 years ago. I just can't remember if they do the work, or just know the best place to take it!
