Gun prices are so variable depending on who is selling and who is buying, so be extra careful! Don't do much in the way of present market values so I'm not sure how the recent run on guns has affected this type of shotgun's value.
Tree farmer is right on the money. The other thing is condition is everything and could mean the difference between a gun being valued at $300 instead of $3000 as the Bluebook states. The market on collectable shotguns has been all over the place since 2008, and most collectors today are only willing to pay $.50-.60 on the dollar of what the Bluebook states.
LC Smith shotguns are good stuff, just be careful since over paying could take you 10 or more years to get your money back. Buying right means appreciating right over time, meaning a profitable addition and great investment.
