that's gonna be a close call if it's a remlin. I'm not sure of the exact date Remington took over, but they got a lot of bbl.'s that were already stamped JM, then mfg'd by Remington. the experts at the marlin forum will know. not ALL remlins are bad, just many.

After some researching Remington took over in 2008. Looks like I'm ok in that area. Now to see if it's in good condition.

for a Winchester guy, there's a lot about Marlins I like. the ease of takedown, shape of the lever, caliber offerings. I still say these older pre rem guns are a great value. eventually they will be bought up and prices SHOULD soar. good luck.

i also like the marlins. I am looking at a 1950 waffletop 336 in 30-30 with a 24" barrel. the highest i will go is 350.

Well my Titan has a rear axle seal leak. So there goes my gun money for now. This will have to wait. So close....
