22 ammo at the gun shows is running 65-100 a brick. b.s. eventually there will be ammo on the shelves again, guess in about 3 years or so.

I talked to the guy that works the SG counter at my local wal mart. He's worked there for years so I kinda got to know him. He told me the ammo shipment gets delivered to the store at night. Depending on who is working, and how many people are working depends on whether it gets put on the shelves at night, or he does it when he gets in at 7. If it gets put in the case at night, it is gone before he gets in. If he puts it out, it's gone within an hour. He said there at least 300 people a shift walking up to the ammo case and looking in it
I heard on another site there was a fist fight in a wal mart over 22 ammo. Apparently there was a bunch of it in the case and some bubba had all his kin folk line up to each get there 3 boxes, not allowing others their chance to get a box. I find it to be a sad state of affairs that we are fighting over bullets in this country

Let's hope the manufacturers and distributors don't keep the price "forced" up by limiting production. I bought 555 rounds of lead plain jane solid tip .22LR for $50 and 500 rounds of good hollow point .22LR for $60 about a month ago and I thought I stole it. I've got 3K .22LR rounds now and if it gets more crazy I've got enough to hunt and occasionally plink for the next 20 years.

I picked up a model 80 today. shoots shorts longs and lr. bought it while at a service call. the old man was the original purchaser of the gun when he was 17. He didn't like the finish of the stock and said he sanded it down and refinished it with 3in1 oil. Aside from the different finish that the 3in1 gives the stock, the gun looks brand new. He even threw in the leather case he bought for it when he bought it new and 3 boxes of ammo. I am sure the actual value of the gun is what I paid for it($60), but it is a great plinker for the price. It has an ancient scope on it, I think it is a weaver. It is mounted on the side and sits up high enough to still use the iron sights. It has a 4 digit SN. Decent little bolt action with mag. Hopefully I can find a couple spare ones.

just checked ebay and they have a buttload of mags for it. looked a few other places don't seem to be hard to find them. seen them as low as $7.00 for a used one and as high as $25.00 for a new in package
