Ithaca Guns have always been known as a maker of great shotguns, and it was a shame when they closed in 2005. Well, someone has purchased the company and they are keeping it an All-American brand!

The new Ithaca shotguns are very nice and made in nearly the same quality of the 60's and 70's. The only problem is they really think alot of them most starting around $799.00 and up for a pump gun... You can find some older jewels out there on-line, in gun shops, and through personal sales if you keep your eyes open. Anytime you travel out of state in your vehicle, hit any local "Mom and Pop" gun shops you can find, the deals still exist, we just have to look a little harder. My recent trip to NYS we stopped at 8 "Mom and Pop" Gun shops on our way there and way back and bought four guns, two each, for half the price of what we have been seeing similiar guns locally and on the internet.... Word to the wise...

Those kind of stops generally double the price of a trip for me by the time I get back. :pinch

They sure do, but I always go because you never know what you'll find in the Mom and Pop Gun shops. They are getting more and more difficult to find them since the "Big Stores" like Gander, Bass Pro, and Walmart are putting a hurting on them. The Mom and Pop dealers are some of the best places to find gems since most want to actually sell, make a little money and don't over price there stuff. We went to one small shop and the owner/manager was an azz hole. He had two guns, priced a little heavy, that we were going to buy, and didn't even want to show them to us. We looked them over and didn't buy just because he was an azz hole with a an attitude. We won't be back either.
