just make sure it's black plastic, has no re-sale value in 25 years and hold it sideways when shooting, lol.
bought 2 glocks when I was younger and sold them used 5-6 years later for couple hundred more than I paid for them.. true story
not to mention anything you bought years ago is probably worth more now with all the panic buyers recently..
as for the plastic vs. full metal frame debate: every gun on the market has a purpose, even the half plastics and 3 lb. desert eagle.... It's all part of evolution of products and is the same in almost everything being manufactured for many years..
i don't know the OP personally, so no comment or judgement on whether you should be conceal carry "worthy" or not from me..
I bet when the 1911 came out you had a bunch of cowboys saying.
"all dem dare sprangs and mechanical thang-a-majiggies gonna ruin the sellin price when it gets old"
Honestly, the way I see gun control going in 25 years, there won't be much that does lose value.
chill, that was sarcasm if you couldn't tell. as for the OP, he is young, but I believe he has a good head on his shoulders or he wouldn't be asking for advice. gotta walk before you run. and I wouldn't recommend cc for ANY first time handgun owner at ANY age. it's just not safe for them or those around them.

I've never owned a handgun but I used to go to range with my uncle at least once a week with his numerous Pistols (mostly his 1911 collections and Sigs) but unfortunately, college life left me no choice but to give up the range time for a while (For like 2 years)
Fortunately, just had an opportunity to go to indoor range with my best friend's father who is a pilot in the United Airline and tried few pistols to refresh my memories and to pick which one would suit me the best.
I have never got charged with anything since I was born and I'm currently serving in the U.S.Army Reserve. I haven't even got a single speed ticket in my life.
I'm not trying to be cocky or anything but based on my background, I think I can put myself as a somewhat pretty responsible person.
I am always eager to learn new things and always respect others more than my own. (The way I was educated)
you are very smart, respectful and mature for your age and likely safer than many that have cc's already, like me. but nobody reaches 30-40 without making a mistake or several and it would be better if they happened without you carrying. you can still own and hunt with one but cc 24/7 is a huge responsibility and not for everyone. there is a lot you have to give up and and theres an expected way to act. trust me I learned the hard way. sometimes you gotta know when to leave it home, never show it off or brag about having one. and most people especialy young ones have loose lips. you are well on the right track and I would just say don't be in a rush.
