I'm really confused now. I'll have the same info as frantwt had (DD-214, etc.), and he said he just walked in to get his. Am I missing something?
maybe things have changed sice I got mine. I am retired law enforcement and I still had to do the dog an pony show. If they don't check, how do they know there is no felony back ground. CCW and CCF are 2 different things. CCF allows u to carry a firearm. CCW is reletive to a knife, stun gun etc. maybe the law changed but I have had mune since retirement in 2005
Just found this: http://concealedcarryforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16166
Looks like things have changed a bit.
You do not just walk in and get a CCW. They do all the paperwork at one time and send it off, but it does cut down the turn around time tremendously
I understand that part, but a 5 day turnaround time is a far sight better than a 3-6 month turnaround time. Even on the low end, that's like a 1800% increase in efficiency (90 days down to 5 days). This has got to be the first time I have ever seen government actually go efficient, rather than from efficient to inefficient.
