Finally got it back from the smith. Not sure what the real reason for the delay was..all I heard was excuses. Regardless, I have it back. Only thing I see wrong, is he did not add any blueing on the rib where it was cut off. If he hadn't had the damned thing so long, and it wasn't close to turkey season I would complain
I have some blueing here, so I will just do it
DOW firearms in Dade City if you want to know who to avoid....
looks pretty good. i was considering having dow build me a springfield m1903 modern sporter. maybe i better look around?
Nice looking bird thumper. It looks like it will balance on the knee just right.
I've used them and they are definately not fast. also they have certain people that do certain jobs and if they are not there and give it to someone else to do? I had a recoil pad job with stock cut down done and the stock came out good but thought the pad could have been better. I currently have a timmney trigger there that they put in a 25-06 of mine for warranty work. they don't do bluing on the premises, so I think your doing right by diy. the important thing is to see if they threaded it true and correct so get out and pattern it asap or you could realy be sol.
Yeah when i go to the woods next weekend I will take it with me and run some turkey loads thru it. Hopefully it is still on. Gonna test those tri-balls also
