Thinkin about puttin together an AR, my dad has a bushmaster lower and I was curious as to what would be a descent upper to put on it?
Do you want to buy a upper or build a upper?
Whatever will be cheaper. But i don't just want to buy a complete ar
You can buy completed uppers from Delton at pretty good price... cheaper than you can put together your own using new parts.
I've seen couple of Delton uppers and rifle kits and quality of parts are decent. One rifle kit that was put togethert did have some problems but I think it got resolved easily. I would stay away from Model 1 kits and uppers as I've seen several with problems and their customer service is pretty poor. The cheapest way to go is to build your own upper by buying used parts here and there and putting it together. Cheapest yet, just buy a used upper.
Most people don't shoot enough round to really notice any problems with pretty much any uppers or kits as long as they work in the beginning. If you shoot thousands of rounds through it each year you'll notice pretty quickly. I have a Bushmaster and RRA that has had over 7k round through each in past 10 years and they are still working okay. They way I shoot I expect they'll be okay to about 10k rounds.
Where's a good Place to find a used upper?
