I have had two FFL's in Tampa try and play that game with me and add on FL sales tax. I found an FFL that knows the law and follows it. It is BS. Alot of FFl's don't want to deal with transfers and that's why they charge $35-$50 to receive, Call-in, log-in and log-out your firearm to you. The only thing they can legally charge you sales tax on is the service they provide only! ie.. the cost of receiving, logging, calling FDLE, and handing you the gun. The purchase was not between you and the FFL, it was between you and the seller you bought it from. Alot of FFL's are misinterperting the FL Sales Tax Law. The other reason some FFL's have such a high transfer fee is because they want you to buy from them at 20-30% more than you can buy on-line and don't want you coming in an spreading the word to other potential customers when you come to pick-up your weapon that you bought it for $100 cheaper on-line. Use Gunbroker, Buds, Guns America, and Guns International and you won't have a problem. Do you research first and find the deals. Have dealt (bought and sold) with all four of them and never had an issue.
Well of all the guns i have purchased from out of state i have never paid tax, NEVER... To my FFL, I pay a $20 fee for the use of his FFL , which i feel is fair (he had to pay for the license) and a $5.00 fee for the call.... thats it nothing else on my end here, on the other end all i pay for is the cost of the gun and between $20 and $30 shipping thats it

I just bought another KELTEC 380 for $209.00 which is cheaper than the gun dealer I use for the FFL can even buy them for. Go figure...They also have the brown P3AT on sale right now for $199.00 ....as far as FFL guy....in Tampa, try Eddies Jewelry and Pawn at 3310 W. Columbus Drive....great guy $25.00 for the entire transfer including call and he has a nice selection of holsters, accessories, etc. at pretty good prices.....
