luckily I still have my leupold 1x4,1.5x5 and 2x7 I have the heavy duplex reticle on the 1x4 and 2x7 and prefer it cuz it gets you on target faster esp on moving game, and usualy always keep them dialed all the way down. can easily make 200 yd hits with each. best I could manage with my mdl 94 recently was 5 shots at 50 yds you could cover with a playing card, with or without glasses. realy hated to give her up but she found a good home with gunboy and hopefully he will be able to shoot her better, I used to be able to keep those groups poker chip sized. took 1 deer at 85-100 yds with it, 1 and done. 375 cal mdl 94xtr top eject millet open sights.

Here's a picture of my Win. 94 trapper 16" barrel 44 mag. Shot some nice pigs with it, definately my favorite rifle in my gun cabinet.

The .375 is sweet, and it's got a great home. It took me some dealing and trading to get her, but now I have all of my bases covered on lever guns:

Winchester Mdl 94 AE .44 Mag Saddle Ring Trapper Carbine 16" with a 4X Burris
Winchester Mdl 94 XTR Top Eject .375 cal with open Millet Siights
Browning BLR Take-Down .308 Cal with a 1.5x-5x fixed Leupold Vari X III
Ithica Mdl 72 .22LR Tube feed with open sights

Every hunter should have at least 2-3 lever guns and a half dozen bolt gun rifles, right... And I'm the conservative gun nut in the group...

I will get Tbone to help me post pics of the four of them one of these days...

I like the .375 with the open sights since it has florecent sights, and I could easily use the .44 mag with open sights as well. The low power scopes have such an advantage with ease of use, quick target aquisition, and quick shouldering and shooting, that they are just hard to beat... My two cents...

after I hit 40 ( 13 years ago ) and my eyesight got worse my open sighted shooting deteriorated. so now I am faster on target and more accurate with low power scopes, unfortunately, cuz now I have to deal with lenses getting wet/foggy and dirty, very easy to happen when hunting in swamps or rain.
