Finally made it to my lease for the first time in over 2 months this weekend. Since this is a dog club, I had no intentions of trying to sit in a stand as the only deer you will see would be running about 100mph. Plus I needed to check on my feeders and cameras. To my surprise, my cameras were still working and I still had deer coming to the feeders, even though they were long empty. Even had daylight pics and even had a daylight buck on cam

Friday afternoon I checked on both feeders/cams and decided to slip down the hammock at my last spot and shoot some tree rats. Went to my ladder stand and someone had been sitting in it, as there was a 6pack of Natty cans and candy wrappers under it. Also, some ding dong drove in there. It is a very old logging road that I literally made a path with my ATV. Someone decided to drive all way past my stand and drove over a mile back and I saw where he got stuck. LMAO

Squirrels disn't start moving till about 5. I ended up shooting 7. No pics

Next morning I went to the big hammock. I had my limit and was back at the truck at 9:30

A few shots of this hammock. I also figured out a couple different spots for next archery season. I got the deer figured out now

Saturday afternoon, since I was limited out I decided to go sit the hammock from the afternoon before. ended up seeing a couple good hound races, one of the deer was a short un-legal buck, and ended up missing a big gobbler

Sunday morning I went back to big hammock, and had 10 in my vest by 9:30. On the way out I rode thru this old tram road that goes thru some beautiful hardwoods. There was a live oak tree that must have had over a dozen in it. I popped off two more to finish off my limit

It would have been a blast to have a couple kids in the back of the truck with shotguns, that tree was crawling with them
After cleaning 31 of them suckers, I was done. Had a blast. Probably the most fun Ive had in months and it was good to clear my head. Got plenty in the freezer for squirrel stew now.
If all goes according to plan, I am going back in 2 weeks and taking a bunch of kids to work on them some more

I love squirrel hunting, and pop a bunch every year. I prefer my Marlin 22mag. solid point bullet. Just in case a hog comes sneaking by. It is by far the best time to scout for deer, and is just a real fun time. I can't wait till Feb. that's when I stop deer hunting, and pop some squirrel, and hog.
That is definately a fine mess of tree rats there, and some real fine eatin. Congrats.
