I killed a pile of them when I was a kid,mostly swampers. They always had them,maybe cottontails don't get them.

Poppa would swat me for shooting petey cottontails swamp dwelling cousin. Cottontails get wolves too in june and july just not as often as those swamp rabbits do. In my experience rabbits are cleanest from an orange grove.

Grew up in MICH and we wouldn't hunt them until first snow. I'm totally lost as to when to hell to hunt them down here. Have a lot of them arround here. Any one know when I should shoot them and if they are have worms and how to prepare them? Don't worry I have the eating part down just fine. LMAO
