yeah i suppose, maybe where they are hunted they are not so bold, i have seen many of these local birds walk right up to people and in some cases chase after them

as a general rule, if they are endangered or close to extinct it's either 'cause they are excellant table fare or they are a terrible pain in the a**. Those white curlews are venison on wings, (from what I'm told).
