I made sure i put "to eat" at the end. without it, it would be questionable. These beers from the microbreweries up here in NC are awesome :toast 😆

BBQ Squirrel:

2-3 large Squirrels (Quartered)
1 lg Vidalia Onion corsley chopped
1 lg Green Pepper corsley chopped or in strips
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce. (or homemade sauce)
Salt & Pepper to taste

In a LARGE Skillet with some EVOO(extra-Virgin Olive Oil) lightly brown Onions and green peppers on med-high heat.
Add the Squirrel quarters and brown.
Once all is browned, add the bottle of BBQ Sauce or your own homemade sauce to the skillet, reduce heat to low, cover and let simmer for 30-40 min

Serve with your favorite side dishes. CORN BREAD and seasoned Green Beens or Greens :clap
Enjoy

I’ve seen fox squirrels at Croom and along Rock Ridge Road before the GS entrance. You can’t hunt them here, but they are legal in other states.

Thanks for your comments GoodOyster….
One of the reasons I hunt, other than the fact that I love the outdoors and suck at video games, is because it allows me to spend quality time with my kids. The youngest (pics.) is not only very good with the bow and shotgun, but also knows how to find his way around the woods, can identify a lot of birds, animals and insects, knows how to set up camp, and have other skills that they don’t teach you in school. Besides being an excellent outdoors kid, he is also an honors student. You should see how proud he feels when teachers ask him what he did during summer or holiday breaks. His friends are always telling him he always has adventures to tell and pictures to prove it… This is something anti-hunters don’t talk about when they criticize our sport.

By the way, below is my favorite picture form a previous squirrel hunt…
