Did any one else receive the following e-mail:
Fellow Florida Saltwater Fishing License Holder,
A few days from now you will receive via e-mail a request to complete a brief questionnaire for a research project being conducted by the University of Florida’s Program in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. The survey will help to evaluate the market potential for aquaculture produced baitfish. I am contacting you in advance to let you know to expect our e-mail. Your responses will help shape research and may lead to an additional source of baitfish for retailers across the state. Thank you for your time and consideration with this important research project.
Are they trying to put castnets out of business? Seriously though, I was fishing Pine Island down in April and we could not find the greenies anywhere, we started asking around at the baitshops and they confirmed it for us. We got another report in mid May that they were still not present in the usual areas. This seems weird, has anyone else experienced late bait runs in their areas?. I am heading down in a couple of weeks and we hope to find them in bucket fulls. Knowing how sensitive some of these baits are, I wonder how they intend to keep the costs down.
havent had any real probs with bait round my area thanks to my fishin is how we been eatin lately has been nice though fresh fish n crabs all the time :fish
Yup I got it...
Not in your area but the bait fish have been good here.
I got it too. I can't imagine that the bait would survive too long from the bait shop.
