I just got a reloader set up. I want to get a 180 grain bullet going 1400 fps. Anybody got a any loads. Buf bore does it.
Couple questions first...
1. What gun are you going to use and what is the barrel length?
2. What bullet are you going to use?
3. What are you going to use it for?
Blachawk with 6.5 barrel, hunting hogs, flat point or hollow, My buddy loads me up with 140 grain hollow with 7-8 grains of red dot 7.
You should be able to get 1,400 fps in that revolver or atleast close to it with hard cast bullet... I wouldn't try it with jacketed bullets.
I have a LBT 180gr WFN-GC hardcast bullet load that gets 1,360 fps from my 4 5/8" Blackhawk.
I use once shot Winchester brass, CCI Magnum primer and H110 powder.
Start at 13 grains and work up slowly and keep your eyes on signs of excessive pressure.
Do you have a chronograph to check?
BTW. I use this load in my Ruger revolver only.
No chrono yet
