I've never had a gun/caliber be so fussy before, it's a 270wsm browning a bolt 23 inch bbl and leupold 3x9 scope, best I can get so far are golf ball to egg sized groups at 100 yds, I should be getting bottle cap sized or better . I usualy keep the oal so the bullet is just about touching the grooves, maybe I'll try going a little shorter on the oal (overall length). anybody reload this caliber, whats your load?

are you reloading to save money or be "more" accurate? My Tikka T3 Lite in 270 WSM shoots 1" groups at 100 yards if I shoot from a rest/bag (my tippy ass holding free probably couldn't make a 5" group). This is with factory ammo (winchester supreme, Fusion, Super X).

How does it shoot factory ammo? Maybe start from there and see if it's the gun and not the ammo/load.

I reload primarily for accuracy and to get the bullet I want (nosler partitions for hunting), saving money is just a bonus, plus I can usualy do a lttle better on velocity also. I've tried h4831, 4320, win 760 of varios wts and results are pretty much the same, good enough for hunting 1" or so but every now and then I should be getting a 1/4" group. my 7mmo8 and 2506 do it frequently, just need to dial in the right load or oal. those other guns just seem to shoot everything well. oh and I tried both 130gr and 150 gr bullets too. I'll get it right sooner or later.

yeah remmington makes nice rifles, love my model 7, and always wanted a 40xb in 22-250 or a sendero, but I think most bolt actions today are capable of sub moa groups, with a little work on loads, trigger work and bedding the barrel. gunmakers legal depts have hamstrung the mfg's. I don't know about you guys but I cannot shoot good groups with a trigger pull around 8 pounds. familiarality and confidence in the weapon are a big part also. my two most accurate bolts are both rugers, not sleek or sexy or much to look at but good shooters. nothing off the shelf works good for me as I need a shorter length of pull. it's like buying a suit if the pants are too long or sleeves too short it needs to be taylored to fit you not the general population.
