I am up at a WMA in N Fla that just opened back up for small game. Historically, the "rut" is right around Halloween, +/- a week.
My buddy has a lease in Lake city, and said the last week the bucks got back on their feet and started moving again. I heard from a friend of mine just south of here that saw 5 bucks chasing yesterday.

Today I found about 15 fresh scrapes since the rain the other day, as well as about 30 fresh rubs, done in the last couple weeks

The last one was in my lease, about a mile in from the road. I poured a bottle of "killdee's scrape juice" in it, and put a camera on it(anyone that goes on GON will know what that is 🙂

And some hog rooting

Definitely in a secondary rut. I am almost positive it is this years yearlin does coming into their first estrus cycle. I had a pile of them on camera that still had spots in the middle of archery season.I cut thru the lease this morning to go fix a feeder and saw a buck chasing a doe. Unfortunately he had already dropped his antlers. I was greeted by 2 bloody spots on the top of his head in the scope. Big deer, nice dark color, and a big swelled up neck

Yes I agree. My dad let a rack buck get by him 2 wks ago chasing and their was another cowhorn spike running the remaining does around that afternoon. When we jumped several bucks the past few weeks they didnn't break apart from the does, and that's normally a good idicator they are in rut (second rut now).
