i have seen the deer still woring scrapes and rubs into January. you usually will get 3 ruts. pre rut - some does come in early, the main rut, and a secondary rut. I know the area i hunt in ga. the main rut is at thanksgiving time. chasing them hard. secondary will start beginning of December.

I thought the topic was rut not smut, damn what a time for my printer to break down. that muzzle loader season in central zone looks like it might be good for rut hunting first week in oct what do you think?
