Ok well heres the deal. I was watching hunting shows on TV today and they had so called "brought in 4 of the BEST white tail deer hunters in the industry". Ok they basically had 4 of the so called best white tail hunters and had them compete and so ok. All in all good show. BUT thats now my question.
The question is Just because you have tons of money to hunt ranches with guides who put you on trophy deer does that make you the best? Or does it just make you a person with allot of money who can buy good opportunities?
Now im glad for those hunters and god bless them! But i mean so theres not a better hunter out there who just dont have the money or is blessed with the oppertunities of the next guy so hes not as a good a hunter?
For those of you who are confused. People pay for guided hunts. They get there and there is already trail cam pics, locations of bedding deer, stands set up. and a guide who will tell you where to stand, where the deer are, and when to shoot. and more but thats just the basics. And the guide will even call the deer in for you in some cases.
I mean what do you all think about this.?
didn't you read deans posts on AT? haha. some of those guys are great hunters, probably not the 'best'. there is always someone better. if you are filming for television and have sponsors, you have to have some guarantees for your sponsors and guided hunts help with that. most of those guys are qualified im sure. im also sure that some of them started out because they have money and want to be on tv. it would be cool to get paid to hunt, especially if your sponsors are paying you and paying for your hunts. i dont get too hung up on 'pro' hunters, most of them dont show many 'fair chase' hunts. i like watching the self filmed and self guided private or public land hunts, lots of cool ones on youtube.
If you talk to most of these guys they will tell you they are not the best hunters out there, they happen to have personality that foes well with t.v. There are guys in any area of the country who dont care about being on t.v. that fill their tags every year. Alot of these guys on t.v. are hunting on their own farms that they have produced whitetail heaven and I personally think that is cool. The Primos crew for example do alot of hunts on their property or clubs in Mississippi and louisianna. The Drurys do a lot of hunts on their own farms,as well as Lee and Tiffany. Even Realtree does some hunts on their property in Georgia. I dont think these guys are the best hunters in the world but I do think for the most part they are good ambassaors for the sport and in this day and age we need all the help we can get.
