Best Monday morning I can remember... youngest got his first buck. Nice 7" spike at 8a. We're back in the stands....weather's changing...getting pretty overcast....I'm feeling a father/son double day 🙂

Seen roughly 20 this weekend (mostly does and fawns eating all my corn), nothing worth shooting but man they were moving, especially Sunday morning.

No double, but was still a great ride home.

Condensed story....big rain cleared around 2a Saturday morning. We sat in ez walk stands at sun up and planned to do a little looking to find the traffic after the downpour erase.

Found a hot scrap that was used after the rain. He was all in on the scrap.

No good place to hang a stand quick, and didn't want to make a lot of commotion so I set up the Bone Collector ground blind. Wind was perfect putting him on the down side with the swamp upwind.

Saturday evening no show...glassed the scrape and was untouched. Sunday morning and Sunday evening no show. Still no activity on the scrape.

Still had 2 days to go and I asked him if he thought about another plan, although I couldn't really add anything because I was 0-fur myself on the weekend. He's sitting on the scrape.

He showed Monday morning at 745a...giving him the head jerk at every step. Hit the scrape quick, head down, gun up. 2 steps to a lane retreating to the swamp, dropped in his tracks...I'm as proud of him as anything on my wall, he is too 🙂
