How much "wariness" do you think the doe passes on to her offspring through their day-to-day interactions?

There's two spotted fawns at work that I see almost every day in one of the most heavy human traffic areas on base. The momma's been gone for awhile now. I don't know what happened to her but she's definitely been out of the picture since not long after they could eat grass and get by with no milk. They were pretty small though. Their spots are fading now.

These two little buggers show very little to no fear of humans that I've seen. Could it be that they've had no "training" so to speak and therefore don't equate humans with the same level of danger as other deer?

Idle thoughts.

I think it is just part of being young and dumb. last year I had a doe and 2 button bucks(they still had faint spots into gun season) constantly around one stand. The doe would come in after them and get real nervous and not hang around more than a few seconds. This was down in a creek bottom where the wind never stays one direction and swirls around. These 2 idiots would stay around my stand for hours. I had them literally between my ladder and the tree.
This year I bet they are a bit smarter

They know where the "no die" zone is.

I bet you're talking about B avenue close to Jacksonville street. I saw a fawn all alone feeding on the side of the road about 1400 Monday when I was out there. I was thinking something must have got its momma.
