Nice ones........
Great job, very nice deer!
Very nice!
its funny the game camera is what really got me the deer. My lease in in Screven county Ga. My buddy who i have known since High school lives up there he put out some corn and set up some cameras, THe spot is a stand I claimed a few years back I have see another nice buck there but anyway the first day I saw nothing Just a little corn missing not many deer was coming to it. so I decided to hunt the next morning there and if i did not see anything I was going to move,
After the first morning I saw nothing so I decided to check the camera saturday night that was when we saw him he was there thurs. at 7:OO pm, 7:40 pm, and 4:30 am along with a couple of does, we got there at friday night. so obviously I decided to stay in stand the weather was hot and Monday it was suppost to turn a little cooler. So it worked perfect my son texed me at 6:30 he said he shot a 4 point but was not sure of the hit so I told him to sit and wait tile we got there. I texed my wife in FL. that our son just shot a deer and at 7:45 He showed He walked 15 yards for my tree from behind me but is was too thick all I saw was hid rear. but he was walking in right direction, I turned the light on in my scope (lighted corsshairs worth the extra $) I saw him cross the loggin road the corn pile was on 10 yards from corn, I got a little nervous he was not going to stop so her turned to his right as he got passed the corn it was almost too dark I could not tell how big his horns were I could just tell it was a buck when he got broad side in the middle of a tree row about 15 yards on the other side of the corn I stopped him he looked in my direction Thru the scope I could see his horns now I let it fly at 38 yards with a N.A.P. F.O.C. 170 Gr. Broadhead and a 3" cut it hit him perfectly it sounded like he got hit by a truck, He went about 40 yards and left a blood trail a blind man could follow, I heard him crash and knew about where he was so I got down and went to my son, Found his arrow and it had gut from one end to the other no blood at all, He said the thought he heard it crash I really did not belive him, If it was my shot he would still be alive. We decided to form a line and walk as far as we could til it got too thick Belive it or not he went 30yards not a drop of blood must has hit femoral artery and he blead out in side the gut plugged the holes so there was no blood trail. The deer acted to same as mine he came close to the corn pile and kept going strait passed the pile he shot it just as it was getting into some thick trees. I did learn something it has been legal to bait deer in ga. since last year and it is only bow season of the second year and the deer are already adapting to it it seem they are circling around the corn pile to see who has been there last. I wonder if baiting will eventually become almost useless as they learn more and only hit them at night.
My dad and all his family were born in Screven county Ga. manassas I believe?
