I'm considering harvesting a deer this year from my property.
I know there are different season on public lands with archery seasons earlier followed by ML season and then finally general/modern gun season later. Does this apply to private land too? If I want to harvest one using ML do I follow the public/WMA seasonal dates too? If I want to shoot one using my modern rifle do I have to wait until general gun season?
Yes if you look at the main season dates on fwc they are for private land. Wma,'s have differint dates published in the brochures. For deer you must use the appropriate weapon for each season.
Looking at the FWC dates, a feller could deer hunt somewhere in Florida from August 2nd through March 2nd. Do any other states have a 7 month season? That's a bunch of hunting days when you consider the 2 week seasons in some of the northern states.
