Yup fullmoon means theyre up feeding all night= less daylight activity.high winds makes them nervous cause they cant pinpoint sounds and smells. cool temps, put down the books and set up a stand in january and february and you wont see as much game as you will in june or july. the belief that deer move more in cold weather can be explained by hundreds of hunters in the woods kicking them up when the temps drop. trust me youll see alot more game during the archery season in areas that arent heavily pressured

well lets see.. friday night i went and set up the stand i think it was about 3pm. me and Floridahunter99. I set up my stand and he set his up somewhere about 1/4 mile away.. I stayed in my stand until about 6:45 and floridahunter99 met me at my stand and i got down, went back to camp with rackman, floridahunter99 and his dad. Talked for a while then went to bed..

Saturday morning. I woke up at 5am. woke rackman up and he just said.. GRRRR. and i said ok.. go back to sleep. Me and floridahunter99 went back to our stands about 6:45 and i stayed in mine until about 7:45 and got pissed cause my bad of trail mix fell 20 ft down. I was also just tired of that spot and no movement at all. So i got down met floridahunter99 and we went walking around and did some scouting. Found some scrapes and just walked around.

We get back to the camp at like 10:30 eat some lunch then we went back out to rackmans stand and looked around then it started to rain. so we came back. Then we went back out and just parked and walked a couple of times. Then finally we found a nice new spot walked it for about a half hour then went back to the truck and back to camp and had dinner. had a great time talkin with floridahunter99s dad. (hes a great person to get to know btw as is kyle).

Sunday morning woke up at 5am packed up camp.. stuffed it in the back of rackmans truck and i put my stuff in my truck. Me and rackman headed out at about i think 7 and went to scout this NEW nice spot we found and saw TONS OF DEER SIGHN.. actually saw another hunter.. lol. Then we went to go pick up Martinarchers stand that he left behind last week. We looked and looked and looked and its not there.. i guess we just missed it. went back to the camp got in my truck and headed home!.

It was a great weekend. I was with Friends and had a great time. Sometimes its not killing anything its spending time in the wilderness and spending time with people who you enjoy being friends with and possibly crackin open a cold one and having a good conversation.

my findings are complete opposite. the moon has no effect on deer movement at all. i see them and harvest them in all moon phases. i also find that deer move less in calm conditions and more in windy conditions. i expect due to being able to use the wind to their advantage. when it's calm, every little sound resonates. including their own. i also see more during the winter months. they are moving more to find food. in the spring and summer, food is abundant. why walk for food if it's right there?

this is not from any book. just from my own experiances of hunting. there is not one form of evidence that deer follow moon phases. zero. none. the best way to harvest a deer, is to put in the stand time, in an area where there are deer and learn their movements.
