The problem is exactly that.....that describes the majority of the muslim world. Without a DOUBT that's Afghanistan in a nutshell. Those of you who have been there know what I mean. The poor African nations are no different. The Arabs tend to be better educated in general for whatever reason but the Libyans, the Afghans, the Indonesians, the Sudanese....all the poor muslim countries will always be the source of crap like this.
Our govt. is weak on foreign policy right now. I'm not sure why. I believe it goes way deeper than the president but he is ultimately responsible for what goes on on his watch so I guess it rests with him.
I believe that CONGRESS could be doing more to address this issue (from both sides of the aisle) but with it being an election year they won't. The guys behind these attacks aren't the average stupid guy. They realize this. They picked a near perfect time to strike.
If we stopped importing all goods from Pakistan and instead imported those same goods from some other place (even China...), stopped all aid to Pakistan and either put it towards paying off the deficit or hell, even distributing that money for a year or two to all Americans in a certain income bracket with the stipulation that they have to buy an american product with it, I think we would be better off than simply accepting the status quo and the steady decline of the American Judeo-Christian cultural foundation......
If you are religious or not, there is no doubt that our country was FOUNDED by different denominations of Christians, along with Jews, Agnostics and Athiests who tended to be able to somewhat coexist and not constantly try to annihilate one another. But the steady progress of time has eroded this foundation and we are where we are today.....an America under near constant attack from outside by muslims who thankfully have been kept away (except for several obvious exceptions) but for how much longer???
the whole black on black thing is another issue, rival gangs and drug dealers killing each other is good ridance imo. a rioting murderous mob all seem pretty much the same to me whether in watts,compton, newark, or overseas in somalia, egypt, lebanon or indonesia. could you imagine if someone gave the bruthas AK's and rocket launchers during our riots. I honestly have no problem with some jackass making a really crappy video of whatever he wants. If it might piss some people off, oh well. Such is life. That's why we are the country we are. I have been all over the world, been shot at, watched my friends bleed, seen my allies bleed and die, all so that we can continue to make whatever silly videos we want.
The paki's can demand all they want but they have no say in any of this. I saw a report that I honestly haven't researched yet, that said they demanded that we criminalize blasphemy or else they were going to deny us an embassy or something....who the fuck cares!!!! I am an GOD fearing, Anglican who believes that our country has almost totally ignored the word of GOD but I believe that if you want to BLASPHEME, go ahead.
