I had requested an absentee ballot, and was going to fill it out last week and mail it in. It was on the side table next to my recliner, and I knocked over a glass of tea and soaked it! Too late to get another, so I decided to wait until this morning. Got to polling place around 8am, walked right in, no one in front of me. Then had to wait because the roster showed I had an absentee ballot, so they had to cancel it. That kind of made me feel better knowing they had some kind of safeguard against people just sending in an absentee ballot and then showing up to vote again. Took about 5 minutes for the poll worker to get someone on the phone and cancel my absentee status, and about 2 minutes to do the 2 page (front and back) ballot. In and out with plenty of time to stop and get some breakfast and coffee before getting to the office around 9.
