So so yall think the economy is picking up? Ive noticed more work coming in and the phone ringing more. Im booked for at least 2 months with work. I mean this question might be more to the construction workers and people who are self employed. What yall think?
Im hoping it is.!
IMO, I don't think it's the economy necessarily, just that people are tired of waiting it out and letting their homes/cars and everything get run down. I've noticed it also. it seems a lot of people are starting to put money back into their homes and yards again, lawns, paint projects etc. is it a wise financial move and will you get a higher resale value for money spent? or is it just that we like nice things and take pride in our homes?
I agree with nacho grande,In my case the wealthy people I work for are tired of not spending and are starting to buy again.
I don't believe it's any better, the housing market is sterile.Used cars are selling for more and it's harder to find them. More people are remodeling homes instead of building and repairing their older vehicles instead of buying a new one. We're still in a lot of trouble, especially if fuel and grains stay so high. The little work where I live is being bid on by so many that they're driving prices to an all time low. I do believe it's more of a selective recession and the ones who are working are not making as much and spending more to survive. The question is are you better off now than 4 years ago? 8 years ago? 2 years ago? I would say NO to all 3 questions. Obama must go!
I have to agree with Skunkape about contractors bidding jobs. We recently had a job pop up here and 3 or 4 GC's bid on as well as half a dozen or so electricians - not counting the ones that probably didn't ask me for the quote. I see gas creeping back down, but I don't want to say too much about it and spook it back up!
