i've looked at a couple of ranches in Texas. the one i was interested in going and hunting on would be the Cougar Run Ranch. in Cleveland. it is a bow only ranch.

Let's see......look at the website and read if you can. I am sorry but comments like that only show an ignorance and do not even need an answer. Petting zoos are bad news I agree however 1000 acres is a bit different. Glad I am not so simple minded to play internet tough guy and do not need to hide behind a made up name. When you want a hunt come see me, I have thousands of acres of free range land as well as high fenced I can hunt anytime I want and will show you neither is easy and neither is hard. That might be why I test archery products for companies, am a staff shooter for a bow company and hunt with several of the folks you like to watch from your easy chair instead of being in a stand in 50 degree weather.

Enjoy your macho attitude and really grow up, hunting is about enjoying not killing. My goodness man, how old are you?

WOW! I wasn't going to comment on this but since you decited to personally attack someone for asking a question now I will. You say their is a big difference between a petting zoo and a 1000 acre high fence stocked ranch??? From what you described it sounds more like a petting zoo to me. Enter the gate and see herds of animals and 190 class deer bedding as you drive in. You can't blame him for asking cause thats what I was thinking also. Not everyone is a professional hunter / shooter like yourself so some may not be as informed as you are about high fence hunting. Instead of jumping down peoples throats why don't you try to better inform some of us instead of acting like an arrogant :ahole .

I think I'd rather show you all the cuts and scrapes and briars in my hands I got from trying to get a hog on bay that I never killed then that.

Never cow hunted, never ranched or farmed. My wife was raised on a farm in Mo ( cows and hogs). I've met a few old crackers that are still living that cow hunted around here. They can tell you some great stories if you give them the time. I know a few that worked hog claims way back also. We got 4 porkers this weekend,my dogs caught 3 of them. My little plott gyp is awesome, she's really starting to figure out what her lifes work is all about. We had one bayed Fri,then caught but it broke a few times but never got to far. Could not get to it for nothing my dog stayed with it from 7:30 am till 5:00 pm. Trust me,me and my buddies arms are stinging. Today we got a 100 lb sow,I got some pics of it with my 3 plotts,I'll try to get my son to down load them then I'll post them.
