Many thanks for the replies. It helps a guy feel kind of welcome.

GoodOyster:

I need to take your advice on the fishing. I keep hearing about how they're biting, but it seems like I can never get a trip set up. I guess I need to re-evaluate my priorities.

I've had permits for Eglin for the last 2 seasons, but have never used them. I found a guy that will let me hunt his property in Okaloosa County and I've also been lucky enough to draw the rifle permit for Perdidio River WMA. That WMA is less than 3 miles from my front door, so it's been hard to convince myself to drive over to Eglin. In the last 2 seasons, I've been fortunate to take 4 bucks and a doe from Okaloosa and Perdidio River. So, I doubt if I bother with the Eglin permit this season.

A note to all,

I'd really like to get into some pigs. I just don't happen to know anyplace to go. If anyone would be willing to assist, I'd hook them up with a bunch of ifo on elk, mule deer and pronghorn antelope back west.

Any takers?

Cheers

flags check out pine log wma I saw severl hogs, deer and turkey running there in mid day.The turkey saw about 60 total most were seen south of the graveyard and spotted more about half mile west on an access lane to the boat ramp. Then nearing the boat ramp access we saw several hogs and deer. The water was high at that time so not sure if that caused all the daytime movements.
