A friend of mine on another forum is doing forestry work out in Green Swamp now. He said it is wetter than he has ever seen it this early in the summer.
A tropical storm or a hurricane and you can forget GS this year
I was out there last week to do a little scouting and there was water everywhere. I couldn't get to the spot I wanted to without waterproof boots. I probably could have used knee high boots or hip waders. :scared:
I was able to see fresh tracks very close to my spot though.
That is a good thing about all the rain, all the sign you see is fresh.
yea green swamp is a flooded mess.
Reminds me a lot of how it was back in the early '80s. Was a true swamp back then. Places just north of Lakeland and east of the GS WMA were also wet, many pastures and yards flooded, all the roadside ditches full. Great for frog gigging, though!
