Welcome to the board Oakley. Thanks for serving brother. I retired from the USCG in 2003 as an O3E with 23yrs. The service life ain't too bad but it's not for everyone. If you stick it out to 20 you'll see what a benefit it is when you finally do retire. Looks like the idiots in congress are looking to screw that retire in 20 thing up now though. All the while of course when they can stop their government service at anytime and get 100% retirement for life...man is that messed up...but I'm ranting now. Welcome to the board!

At first I thought I would retire from the Army, but that has changed. I've got a job lined up where I can still get a retirement after 20 years though. I'm going to stay reserve but thats as far as me staying in the army goes.
