they're a blast to catch once you figure out how to catch them. you can't let them take the bait. you have to feel them and set the hook immediately. they do fight good too. they're like pulling in a large blue gill.

Oh yeah I love to fish for them not to hard to catch and plenty to go around.

As the water temps drop they will be thick, I have always had good luck using the asian green mussels. Very fun to catch!!!

When you figure all they eat is shellfish, they ought to taste pretty darn good, and they do. We used to keep a flat shovel in the boat to scrape pilings and such, then put a pinch of shrimp on a small, stout hook. When there's lots to eat in the water, they aren't as careful and hit better. We fished under the I-75 bridge on the Manatee River once and caught over 20, all between 3 and 7 pounds.
