Part of the problem that I have had is them biting down and breaking my hook. That has happened to me at least 6 times that I can remember.

That is the reason I use gamakatzu live bait hooks they are heavy and work well.

when i first moved here i had no place to live, no job, very little money.....bought a pawn shop pole and lived on sheepshead. i would catch one in the morning and that was my lunch. i would chip off a few oysters for bait. man what a time! i learned how to catch those with just one oyster! i've eaten them every way imaginable too!
