Do you guys mind picking me up a sack full when you guys go. Preferrably shucked. Don't forget the wet-dry vac. for the dirty work.
Scallop report:
Me, Huntingfool, his wife & daughter launched Saturday at Steinhatchee and headed north towards Keaton. We found the pod of boats and worked around the edge of the flotilla. We tried every depth between 2-8', and never really could find a concentration of them. At about 10:30 we decided to pack up and make the run down south of the river. After a 30 minute run down there, we saw a pod of boats up by rocky creek, but it was very shallow where they were. Looked to the south down by pepperfish and made the run down there in about 3-4'. Started finding a fair amount. We worked hard for every one we got. We ended up with a 5 gal bucket full. We hit the jackpot towards the end of the day. Found a spot that was loaded, but we had to pack it in and dodge the afternoon thunderstorms. Plus we were pretty tired and sunburned. Got back to the ramp on dead low tide, and were welcomed by a washed out/rutted out dirt ramp and had a hell of a time getting out, but all ended well. Thank God for 4WD. Boat cleaned, put away, scallops cleaned and all done by 5:30. Then sat down to a fine plate of BBQ from a local joint in town.
Had a great day, and honestly had as many as I felt like cleaning
Sorry no pics this trip. I don't look good in a bikini anyway
