I was out this morning and saw a family collecting konchs. Not the big ones but a whole bunch of little like 3" ones. they said you can boil them and eat them. Are they safe to eat? I know you can get konch fritters at some resturants nut not sure if they are the same. Is there a time of year not to eat them like with oysters and stuff?

no they were not hermit crabs. they just looked like really big snails. From what I read about conchs they start small and grow. I dont know but probably not worth the hassle. Next time I go out I will find some and take a picture.
