I have never been scalloping before. Do y'all know of a good, honest charter captain to take a couple people scalloping?

by me in N.Y. they would primarily drag for them from sailboats ( guess that's not considered commercial). for clams non commercial we would put a basket in an inner tube and feel for them with your feet or use a 5-6' handled clam rake with a basket and teeth to get them. for commercial clammers they would use long handled rakes with big baskets or scissor type handles and a lot of back/shoulder muscles.

There were deep this weekend and the water is dusty. We got abt 3gals between 8 of us over. Most were found in 8-10' of water and you have to drive and search for them only abt 15 or so were actually seen from the surface. It was terrible for the two first timers. I would wait a couple weeks to charter!
