Well last night was my wife birthday, and she wanted to spend it shark fishing. I got up before dawn to head out and get some fresh baits for last night. Spent the usually 3 hours organizing our gear thawing baits, and loading the truck. Get all the way to Boca Grande drag all our stuff down to the shore. When we get there the waves and wind are ridiculous, which I would paddle through but theres hundreds of fish washed up with more coming in. After about ten minutes we were hurting so bad we had to call the whole trip off unfortunately. The report is from Venice inlet to Gasparilla island 2 miles off shore. I would just like to say that FWC and Mote forecast and report as well as the weather people! I don't know where it is farther north, but if you were planning on fishing anywhere around Gasparilla on shore or off save your gas. Venice pier was clear that morning, I'm gonna try to head to Englewood today to see if its come in shore up that way yet.

Dude, you need to count your blessings on this one, she's a keeper for sure! :>) I love my wife dearly, been married 32 years and have loved every second of it, and she is definately a blessing to me in every sense of the word but she would never go hunting with me...much less want to do it for her birthday. Hat's off to your lady. :toast
She thought it was stupid, and had a fit about how much it cost until she hooked her first big fish. Now she drags me out fishing more than the other way around lol. Sometimes I can even manage to get her to go snag rays and help gaff them lol. Nothing better than having the whole family enjoy the same hobbies.
