My buddy has a home on the canal there and he let me stay there. Went fishing everyday w/the boys. Best trip I ever had. finally got to take the boys on the boat. They had a blast and didn't want to leave. We caught the usual cats,ladies,grunts,and pins. I caught a 20" trout.
I am headed down next Thursday morning for a trip, can't wait. Did you do any cast neting for bait?
I have a net to practice,but I haven't got the hang of it yet. My boat is only 14' and 3' wide but it gets me on the water. I used shrimp.
I have used one in the past and was never anygood at it but the last time down there I had an old man give me a 5 minute lesson, his method did not require holding a piece of the net in your teeth, within 2 to 3 throws I had the net opening to atleast 90%. I was even able to throw it in knee deep water wading the shallows.
