How about some good how to tips on fishing piers!

Rods n reels- I have ste ups for lite fishing to heavy weight fishing- 6.6/7.6 med spinning with spools of line from 8lb to 12lb. 7.6/9.6 med heavy to hvy spinnign and casting spooled with 10lb to 14lb. Hvy action 12 foot spinning spooled with 12lb to 40lb plus hvy action 6.6 casting 4/0 for shark spooled with 40lb mono and 80lb braid.

Baits- I like to carry several baits live and cut- live shrimp,live pinfish,crabs and cut or strips of squid,shark belly,misc cut fish.

Gear- large cooler,pier net,bait bucket,bait net,asst lures got cha's,jigs,slip corks,soft plastics,mono leader and fluorocarbon leaders,wire,knives,good chair.This is just some of the things I like to carry while fishing piers.

bridge net and you dont have to worry about pole size.. no need to ever pull them up using your pole.. bridge net!!

the pld way was the bridge gaff but last several years it has been by net!
Plus I take several rods ready rigged just in case a foul up or break and I can switch over fast.Plus those extra spools make for quick changes if needed!
